Our Story

2019

The Castle founding team initially started with a mission to source a single business ripe to acquire and operate.

2020

We found over a dozen promising opportunities but, based on our investment parameters and thesis, completed only one majority acquisition.

2021

We acquired Cardata from an owner looking to retire. We took on day-to-day operating roles to run the business.

2023

We tripled revenue in under 3 years, which led to a majority recap in Oct 2023.

2024

After embarking in operating roles, we are now excited to build a portfolio of companies where we can add value and offer unique exit plans for owners.

Founding Team

Sheret Ross

BCom (McGill), MBA (University of Toronto)

Sheret’s experience spans the Creative Destruction Lab, Xanadu, AB InBev, and Lightspeed POS, with a track record of scaling ventures and driving strategic growth initiatives. He co-founded Spruce Grove Capital in 2019, and became the CEO of Cardata in 2021.

Michael Levine

BSc (Queen's University), MBA (University of Toronto)

Michael played a key role in driving Lynx Equity’s strategy, where he helped transact on a diverse portfolio of companies. Before joining Lynx, Michael was as a Financial Analyst at BDO, where he provided M&A advisory services, like business valuation services. In 2019, he co-founded Spruce Grove Capital, and by 2021, he was leading Cardata as President.
